ABOUT ME

I’m Alok Dhuri, I have been capturing images since 2006. Even though I did my bachelors and masters in finance, I didn’t let that stop my passion for capturing moments around me. For me it was a way to show how I perceive things around me. I took part in a lot of photography competitions and winning them motivated me even more to dig into this art. In 2013 I started working for ICICI Bank Ltd. as a privilege banker, I spent weekdays at bank and weekends with my camera. Most of my earnings would end up in buying more accessories and lenses for my camera. The zest of trying something new in this vast field was something that kept me going. After a couple of years with the bank, I thought I should make my passion, my career. I then took up a 2 year course in commercial photography from Mumbai and have had chance to work with some wonderful people.

 

In the past 5 years as a freelance photographer I have shot weddings, shot for NGO’s in Pune, worked with jewellery brands, shot for interior designers, won photography competition held by Better Photography and the most recent  I got to design and photograph The United Nations Population Fund Calendar 2019.

It has been a wonderful journey so far, and I’m excited to see what more comes in the way.
